Typhoon Muifa has swept past the Philippines' northern coast, just days after tropical storm Nock-Ten hit the island of Luzon and killed 57 people.
Typhoon Muifa, the ninth tropical storm this year, killed at least four people despite not making landfall. Two fishermen drowned when their boat overturned, while two children were killed in a landslide amid fierce rain and wind in central Bohol province.
Muifa is moving toward southern Japan at a speed of 175 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is forecast to near the Ryukyu Islands later on Tuesday, packing winds of up to 210 kilometers per hour.
