One of the most highly-anticipated presentations at the 2015 Comic-Con was for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” and it didn’t disappoint. Introduced by a heart-stopping drum beat, the panel included the film’s stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, director Francis Lawrence and was moderated by Conan O’Brien. (As an aside, if you haven’t seen O’Brien’s ode to “Mad Max,”you really should.)
This will be the last installment of the highly popular and profitable series, which has a worldwide gross of more than $2 billion. In it, Katniss and her crew will head out on one final mission that could determine the fate for millions. Her elevation to new heights is hinted at in the newly-released teaser trailer.
While the action series is very intense, Lawrence and her co-stars brought laughs and levity to the panel. Here’s some of the funnier moments from the Q&A:
Jennifer Lawrence on any similarities between her and Katniss:“Nothing about us is similar. She’s brave and I’m…an actress.”
Liam Hemsworth on what he would tell his character Gale Hawthorne: “There’s plenty of other fish in the sea, mate.”
Lawrence correcting O’Brien on her weapon of choice being a bow and arrow, not a crossbow: “I didn’t spend months and months of training to be called a crossbower.”
Josh Hutchinson on Lawrence saying that she’s 24: "That's like 40 in Hollywood.”
Lawrence on what it’s like to end the series: “There’s no way to say this without starting weird rumors, but that night we held each other and slept like puppies.”
“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2” is set for a November 20, 2015 release.
