Doctors Warn Link Between Hot Weather and Heart Attack

Doctors warn patients with lung(肺) and heart disease to stay indoors during hot weather. Dr. Kausalya Pendyal tells her patients in Richmond, Virginia before they go outside to check the Air Quality Index(大气质量指数)—a government ____1____ (评估) of pollutants(污染物) in the air. The study shows the risk is greater for the elderly, people with existing heart disease, and people, in generally poor neighborhoods, who live along major roads and highways.
