NEW YORK - President Barack Obama sternly(严厉地,坚决地) warned Wall Street Monday against returning to the sort of reckless(轻率的) and unchecked behavior that threatened the nation with a second Great Depression.
Even as he noted the U.S. economy and financial system were pulling out of a downward spiral(下降的螺旋), Obama warned financial titans(巨头) on the first anniversary of the Lehman Brothers collapse that they could not count on any more bailouts(政府救市).
He credited his administration and the $787 billion stimulus package(整套刺激经济的措施) rammed through Congress in the first days of his taking office(就职) for pulling the country back from the brink(危险边缘).
