HOUSTON - Dozens of police and federal agents (联邦探员) descended on the Houston clinic (诊所) of Michael Jackson’s doctor Wednesday in what his attorney (律师) said was a search for evidence of manslaughter (杀人罪), thrusting (推进) the doctor back under suspicion (被怀疑) in the King of Pop’s death.
Dr. Conrad Murray was with Jackson in his final moments at the singer’s rented mansion (宅第) in Los Angeles and accompanied him to the hospital. He has cooperated with investigators and the search was the clearest indication (象征,迹象) that authorities are looking for signs of possible wrongdoing (坏事).
Police have said little about the probe (调查), neither confirming nor denying the possibility of criminal charges (刑事罪). The Los Angeles Police Department said he was still not considered a suspect (嫌疑犯), though the raid (突然搜查) shows investigators are intensely (热切地) scrutinizing (详审) the doctor.
